AkkarAccar - biological acaricide fighting sap-sucking pests. Accar is a composite preparation containing
Insects are infected with the entomopathogenic fungus Lecanicillium lecanii when they come into contact with the sticky fungal spores, which then grow and invade the body, thus the internal organs are consumed, leading to their death. Susceptible species include aphids, greenhouse whiteflies, mites, spyders, and tobacco thrips (Frankliniella fusca). Metarhizium anisopliae (causal agent of green muscardine) affects more than 70 insect species, of which 34 belong to Coleoptera and only 2, to Lepidoptera. Toxins of M. anisopliae act specifically on mites and thrips. Avermectins stimulate the release of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) from nerve terminals, which block neuronal signaling and eventually cause death in many species of insects, aphids, and nematodes. The mechanism of action of Bacillus thuringiensis toxins has been described above. The preparation is recommended for use in greenhouses and frames. How to useAccar is applied by spraying vegetating plants. The expenditure is in the range 3–5 l per hectare. The first two treatments are done at an interval of seven days; all subsequent treatments should occur at 14-day intervals (half of the suspension is applied onto the plants and the other half used for spraying soil and the alleys of the greenhouse. The optimum temperature for the development of entomopathogenic fungi is in the range +23...+30°С at relative humidities of 80-90% and in the presence of condensed moisture. Shelf life: 6 months at 0°С to +10°С, or 3 months at +20°С to +25°С Ordering info:
