BiofertilizersThe modern intensive plant growing can’t be imagined without the use of fertilizers, growth regulators, pests and pathogenic microorganisms control. The safety of the use of agricultural products for human nutrition, livestock feeding, protection of the whole agribusiness, processing industry become the most acute problems of science and production.
At present, technologies for the production and use of biological products based on symbiotic and associative nitrogen-fixing and phosphate-mobilizing microorganisms, as well as microorganisms producing phytohormones, vitamins, organic acids and other biologically active substances have been developed. The advantage of organic substances synthesized by microorganisms, as opposed to chemical pesticides and fertilizers is their complex positive action and high efficiency.
Being natural substances, they do not accumulate in the environment and are easily disposed of in it. They contribute to improving the mineral nutrition of plants, increasing their resistance to various stresses and phytopathogens, increasing yield and quality of crop production while maintaining soil fertility. Ecologically pure crop production provides for the following important conditions:
- optimal ratio of biological and technogenic factors of production with a gradual expansion of this indicator towards biologization; - restoration to an optimum level of soil fertility of agricultural areas, mainly due to an increase in humus content in soil; - detection and maximum use of microorganisms that are antagonists for pests (pathogenic fungi, bacteria and insects); - minimizing the use of pesticides and herbicides, taking into account the effectiveness and the maximum permissible doses of use.
These principles of ensuring environmental safety are particularly relevant in vegetable growing, where the frequency and abundance of the use of chemical plant protection products has long exceeded the reasonable limits, and in the greenhouses such a chemical pressure leads to the appearance of allergic reactions and various diseases.
